What is the Elijah Ride?

The Elijah Ride is a horseback spiritual pilgrimage across our nation from west coast to east coast, and from south coast to north coast, praying for our nation.

The heart of the ride is to cover our whole land with prayers for healing and the restoration of families.  It is about praying in action the prayers of Malachi 4:5-6.  It is the very last couple verses of the Old Testament:

‘See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.’

God gave this vision to a Christian brother, and then to Ps. Glen Reid, the senior pastor of Harvest for Christ Church in Orange.  Ps Glen has deeply been feeling the pain of brokenness of Australian people amongst family members and between different people groups, and the growing sense of loss of our precious Christian heritage.

Ps Glen is continually inspired by what the 800 Australian Light Horsemen did to capture the city of Beersheba on 31 October, 1917.  This allowed Australian & British troops to re-capture Palestine after 400 years of Turkish Rule. The heart of the Elijah Ride is motivated from the same spirit of re-capturing the land that belongs to God, and liberating God’s people to worship  God freely.  We believe the Elijah Ride is a revelation and call from God, and therefore God will reveal more about its meaning as they step out in faith to obey Him. One of the new revelations is that it’s also about God’s heart for the restoration of Israel.

One of our Christian brothers and his 4 horses left Orange on April 11 2011 for Geraldton WA, and he will ride his horses through the desert across to Batemans Bay in NSW.  Ps Glen and his team members (Ps Daesop Yoon of Orange Prayer House, and Bradley Blair of Cowra) and two horses will leave for Port Augusta, SW on April 19th. From there they will go through Alice Spirings up to the coast of Darwin.

Jedong Kim of HisStory Church will join the ride from Alice Springs up to Darwin. Ps Glen is asking the body of Christ to pray for the Ride. He hopes this ride encourage the Body of Christ to greater pray together for the spiritual revival of Australia, the great Southland of the Holy Spirit.

The teams are planning to build a small alter every 100 kms as memorial places, to pour anointing oil on the alters, and to celebrate the Holy Communion to declare the salvation of Jesus Christ our Lord. In this way they declare that the whole Australia is the land that belongs to God.

The Elijah Ride is an act of obedience to the call of the Lord, and I believe that the Lord will open heaven wide to pour His blessing upon this land during and after the Ride.

Ps DaeSop Yoon.
