Finished This Race

Casuarina Beach, Darwin, 1/7/11

“…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

All we wanted was a little celebration of the end of just one chapter of the Elijah Ride, and the beginning of a new chapter in our continuous prayer journey.

To our surprise, God sent our friend and worship leader James Rutten all the way from Orange to help us to celebrate this new mile stone. James’ brother, Nic who is a captain in the Australian Army was there too, which was meaningful for us, because the spirit of 800 light horsemen who had captured the city of Beersheba in 1917 was an important part of this ten-week ride.

There on the beach of Casuarina, Darwin, we finished our ten week ride and called up on the name of the Lord, and thanked our wonderful God.

We are deeply thankful that the Lord has led us this far, and helped us to obey his call by completing one part of the Elijah Ride. We have done the task given to us, that is, to do the prayer ride from Port Augusta to Darwin.

In all this, we know we have nothing to boast about ourselves but the grace of God, his covering, and his provision through his people. We just had the privilege of experiencing how real our God was to us, and how his presence followed us all the time, even when we do not see him with our own eyes.

We prayed our deep thankfulness for all He has done and all the people who faithfully prayed for us and financially supported this journey. All those who worked faithfully behind the scenes, all who visited us, and those who helped us by providing what we needed for this journey. We also thanked God for our team members, Glenn, Bradley, Jedong, and myself. We thanked God for the churches of Orange, especially Harvest Church and HisStory Church in Sydney. We thanked God for our families who silently shared our joys and pains throughout journey.

Lord, we keep praying for the healing of our land, unity of the Church, salvation of souls, restoration of families. May all these happen as we worship you and lift your name high above all others! May your presence and your glory fill our land! Amen, amen!

Janine Mann - Every success story begins with somebody taking a small step , to experience miracles we must get out of our comfort zone. You guys certainly did that and you have run the race and finished well. May our God Richly Bless you and answer every prayer that you have earnestly prayed on your journery. Janine Mann

Andrew - I want to commend you amazing men for stepping out and being obedient to that which the Lord has put on your heart. Many of us have been following your progress each day, and know it has not been an easy journey for you all. It would have been be easy to allow the trials to pull you up, but we are called to keep our eyes on the prize, and you have done just this.

This small task you have completed is merely the beginning of something much bigger that will have spiritual ramifications throughout our country for years to come. He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers.

“We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labour prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction.”
1 Thess 1:2-5

Steven Davis - A sister in the Lord and friend suggested I look up the site and enquire into your service of the Lord! A great encouragement and inspiration for us who are in the journey of prayer with you for our nation, our cities and suburbs and for our local communities.
